Bark

I took this image while taking photos of things with shapes.  I was drawn to this light because lights always make really nice photos and it was a uniquely shaped light.  I edited the picture in camera raw to make it look the way I wanted and change the lighting a little  bit.  I like how the light draws you to the corner of the photo and you see darkness in the background with the leaves.

Petunia

One thing I really love about this photo is the change in color between the background and the main focus of the image, the flower.  The flower is definitely what your eye is first drawn to when looking at the photo, and this is the kind of look I was going for.  I also like how there is only one flower in the image, instead of many like lots of photos have.  It seems very different, which I like.  When I was taking photos, this flower really popped out at me and turned out great in my photo.

Leaves

I decided to take this image for a couple reasons.  One, I was taking images using rule of thirds composition.  These are images that are taken with a camera that has lines splitting the screen into nine sections, this helps make photos look a certain way.  The leaf that I wanted to be the main focus of my image fell perfectly on the far left line, giving it a nice, unique feel.  And two, these kinds of images have many lines and patterns in them.  I really liked the pattern of this leaf and the way it looked in the photo.  I love the way that the main focus of this image is what your eye is drawn to right away, and the rest of the tree and the house in the background are out of focus.
